<p style="text-align:center;">The website provides published news articles and other current events items from established news organizations. Other resources are also available that helps students to become informed viewers and readers of the news.<span id="more-32"></span></p>
<p>Student News Daily claims to be &#8220;made by a teachers, for teachers.&#8221;</p>
<p>I know what your thinking&#8230; &#8220;YAWN!!!&#8221; But, don&#8217;t be fooled. When it comes to searching for current events, this is as good as it gets.</p>
<p>The entries are divided up into nine catagories and are updated almost daily. The categories are as follows:</p>

<li><strong>Daily News Article:</strong><br />
A top news story of the day is posted in this category each weekday by 11 am EST. Comprehension and critical thinking questions are found below the article.</li>
<li><strong>Daily Best of the Web:</strong><br />
These are usually excerpts from OpinionJournal.com&#8217;s &#8220;Best of the Web&#8221; written by the editor, James Taranto.</li>
<li><strong>Tuesday&#8217;s News Issue:</strong><br />
Posted Tuesday morning, this article is taken from the news magazine WorldMag.com for a more in-depth look at one of the top news stories of the week. Questions are found below the article.</li>
<li><strong>Wednesday&#8217;s Biased Item:</strong><br />
A weekly example of biased reporting and questions about the excerpt, along with definitions of the types of media bias, are posted in this category each Wednesday morning.</li>
<li><strong>Thursday&#8217;s Commentary:</strong><br />
Each Thursday morning a commentary is posted in this category. Questions are found below the article.</li>
<li><strong>Friday&#8217;s News Quiz:</strong><br />
This is generally a multiple choice or true/false quiz with questions relating to the week&#8217;s &#8220;Daily News Articles.&#8221; (Answers are sent by email on Monday.)</li>

A new Cartoon is posted every Friday. It is accompanied by a question requiring the student to demonstrate understanding of the cartoonist&#8217;s intended meaning.</li>
